Inna Faliks
May 15 @ 7:30 pm
Free
Join the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music for a recital featuring Professor Inna Faliks.
Celebrating Ravel’s 150th birthday, UCLA professor and head of piano Inna Faliks performs his iconic, fiendishly difficult masterwork Gaspard de la Nuit, written in response to the poetry of the symbolist poet Aloyisius Bertrand. This triptych of Ondine, Le Gibet and Scarbo will be preceded by a performance of Ravel’s sonata for violin and piano with Faliks and our Distinguished Violin Professor Movses Pogossian. The concert concludes with Faliks, joined by Varty Manouelian, violin, and Ben Hong, cello, in Shostakovich’s 2nd Trio in E minor.
Concert is free and open to the public.
