Aurelio de la Vega

The Wende Museum presents a centennial concert honoring Aurelio de la Vega (1925–2022), the Cuban-born, world-renowned composer who taught in CSUN’s Department of Music for more than three decades.
Presented in conjunction with the art exhibition The Sextant by Enrique Martínez Celaya. De la Vega’s music reflects a life shaped by displacement, political rupture, and artistic independence; all themes that closely parallel Celaya’s exploration of memory, loss, and belonging.
This concert is part of the international Aurelio de la Vega Centennial, with performances and lectures taking place worldwide.
