Capitol Ensemble

Noted for a sound which is “richly upholstered and well balanced,”  the Capitol Ensemble is a unique group of musicians dedicated to the live performance of an eclectic range of repertoire, ranging from the Baroque to the 21st century. The members have collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned artists, including Mstislav Rostropovich, Sir Neville Marriner, Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Janos Starker, and Leonard Bernstein. The ensemble has given live broadcasts on National Public Radio, and has premiered and recorded new works by several California composers.

The Capitol Ensemble will present a special program of Piano Quartets featuring two deeply expressive works:

Piano Quartet in G minor, K.478

Josef Suk
Piano Quartet in A minor, Op.1.

This program brings together elegance, passion, and rich musical conversation in an intimate chamber music setting. Whether you are a longtime lover of classical music or simply looking for a meaningful and uplifting Sunday afternoon, we would be delighted to welcome you.
