The Vicente Chamber Orchestra celebrates Paul & Mary Ann Cummins, two visionaries who transformed education and the arts in Los Angeles.

The Vicente Chamber Orchestra presents a celebratory concert in honor of Paul and Mary Ann Cummins — two visionaries whose passion and purpose transformed education and the arts in Los Angeles. Paul co-founded Crossroads in 1971 and went on to create a constellation of schools and programs that have educated thousands of young people across the city. Mary Ann founded the Crossroads Music Major program that same year, inspiring generations of students to discover the beauty and power of classical music — not only as a career path, but also as a gift that enriches our lives and deepens our humanity. Together, they showed us that excellence and compassion belong together, and that building something beautiful for others is the highest use of a life.

Our program reflects the spirit of their legacy: violinist Joan Kwuon joins us to perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, followed by Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 — music that needs no introduction, only the joy of hearing it live.
