Duo Syncopa

$15 – $20Formed in 2017 from a shared passion for the music of Robert Schumann, Duo Syncopa is woven together by the artistry of violinist Yue Qian and Tomomi Sato. In the 2023-2024 season, they present a wide variety of programs throughout the United States. With both members having studied at USC and Juilliard, the duo has worked with renowned teachers, including Kevin Fitz-Gerald, Yura Lee, Bing Wang, Ronald Copes, Sylvia Rosenberg, and Jonathan Feldman.
Beverly Hills National Auditions Winners for the 2023-2024 Concert Season
Chinese violinist Yue Qian strives to express herself through the violin, and believes that music truly brings people together. As a member of the Beijing Contemporary Soloists, a recent CD “Jade” was released under NAXOS China featuring music by prominent contemporary Chinese composers. Qian has performed worldwide with festival appearances at Verbier Festival in Switzerland, Taos School of Music, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, Music@Menlo, Heifetz International Music Institute, and Beijing Modern Festival. She is a silver medalist of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and a candidate in the Sendai, Tibor Varga, and Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competitions.
Japanese pianist Tomomi Sato enjoys a diverse career as a performing artist, curator, and educator. A prizewinner of 2013 Seattle International Piano Competition, she has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as Los Angeles Bach Festival Orchestra, The Orchestra San Antonio, Bellflower Symphony Orchestra, and Concerto Chamber Orchestra. As a solo and collaborative recitalist, she has taken stages throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
