Piano Spheres’ founding pianist Susan Svrček was known for her elegant and insightful performances. Her untimely passing in 2022 preceded the loss of her husband of 32 years, influential composer Frederick Lesemann who wrote much of his later music for her, and whose music she championed. The artists will perform works by Charles Ives (3 Quarter-tone Pieces), Arnold Schoenberg (Introduction to the Gurrelieder) and John Cage (Dream) often performed by Susan, as well as music by Lesemann written for her. And if that weren’t enough, there will be premieres of three 30 for 30 pieces written by Susan and Rick’s good friends Bill Alves, Donald Crocket and Thomas Flaherty.

Piano Spheres’ Core and Emeritus Artists Gloria Cheng, Nic Gerpe, Aron Kallay, Thomas Kotcheff, Vicki Ray, Mark Robson and guest pianist Nelson Ojeda Valdés, will present a tribute to pianist Susan Svrček and composer Frederick Lesemann. This concert is a rare opportunity to see all Piano Spheres Artists together on the same stage!
