Joshua Rubin and Friends

Clarinetist Joshua Rubin is internationally known for his work in the world of contemporary music, but for us he has assembled a group of virtuosi for a concert of late baroque and early classical music. This is music you’re not likely to hear on the radio and rarely in concert halls and will feature Beethoven’s celebrated Septet for strings and wind. As a performer, Mr. Rubin has appeared in top venues throughout the USA, including Carnegie Hall and Disney Hall, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The New York limes has praised him as a clarinetist “incapable of playing an inexpressive note.
At Crazy J Ranch Topanga we have created a non-commercial, not-for-profit House Concert series for acoustic music of all kinds, including folk, bluegrass, gypsy jazz, classical. Our outdoor concerts take place one Sunday afternoon each month spring through fall. We are pleased to announce that our next concert on Sunday, July 20th will feature early classical music played on period instruments led by clarinetist Joshua Rubin. The program will include Beethoven’s Septet in E-flat.
There is a suggested donation of $25 per adult for the sole benefit of the artists on stage. The organizers of this event receive no compensation and cover all expenses.
