Pianist Robert Thies joined by Long Beach Symphony Concertmaster Roger Wilkie in a performance of Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata
Aficionados highly regard Robert Thies’s solo recitals not only for his consummate musicianship and sensitive artistic interpretations, but also for his illuminating observations about the composers and the selections. Thies first captured worldwide attention in 1995 when he won the Gold Medal at the Second International Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia.
A Southern California native, violinist Roger Wilkie‘s professional career began with a six-year tenure in the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Currently, Mr. Wilkie serves as concertmaster of the Long Beach Symphony, a position he has held since 1990.
