Akshaya Avril Tucker: Three Songs
The West Coast premiere of Three Songs (2018), in a new arrangement for Hindustani voice, soprano, and ensemble. This work won an ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award in 2019, and fluidly and soulfully blends Indian classical and Western chamber music. Featuring Saavani Thigale, Hindustani voice.
Anuj Bhutani: On Letting Go
Featuring the West Coast premiere of On Letting Go which John Schaefer (WNYC New Sounds) called “alternately celestial and dark” with Ashley Walters (cello) and a voice + electronics set from “manu”, Anuj Bhutani brings an evening of genre-fluid music with narrative depth as both composer and performer.
