Haydn’s classicism meets a modern work by Reena Esmail, with three of Dvořák’s Romantic “Cypresses” songs between them.
The Viano Quartet has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting and accomplished young string quartets on the international stage. Formed in Los Angeles at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, the quartet—Lucy Wang and Hao Zhou, violins; Aiden Kane, viola; and Tate Zawadiuk, cello—won First Prize at the prestigious Banff International String Quartet Competition and was awarded the 2025 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Now performing at leading venues around the world and serving as Bowers Program Artists at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Viano Quartet is celebrated for its virtuosity, expressive intensity, and rare unity of sound. Their return to Los Angeles is a special opportunity to hear one of today’s outstanding young ensembles at the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary international career.
